There is no, or insufficient provenance information known about this object from the period 1933-1945. The provenance is inconclusive. It is not known how, when, from whom or under what circumstances the private collector J.H.A. Evers from Haarlem originally acquired this painting. The work remained in the family until 1939. In 1939, Mrs L.J.B. Berdenis van Berlekom-Evers sold the painting. It is also unknown how, when, from whom or under what circumstances art dealer N. Beets, Amsterdam, acquired it. Beets subsequently sold it to Kunsthandel Hoogendijk, Amsterdam, in July 1940. Hoogendijk sold the painting to Posse for the planned Führermuseum in August 1940.
